HUNTER DESIGN (formerly tree+house architecture) is a full service architecture firm specializing in residential, restaurant and office design. Its founder, Stephen Hunter, established the firm in 2008 following completion of an internship at the prestigious 4240 Architecture and his subsequent freelance design-build work. Since then, the firm has grown to take on projects ranging from custom homes to ranch entry gates, brewery facilities and indoor athletic fields. Though primarily focused on the Denver metropolitan area, HUNTER DESIGN is currently designing projects in northern California as well.

Architectural design is an intensely personal process. Our designers are adept at listening to our clients to ensure an outcome that exceeds expectations and embodies dreams. Each project presents a unique opportunity to create a statement reflective of clients’ needs and aesthetic.

HUNTER DESIGN espouses a three-pronged approach to each of its design projects:
LISTEN. Every project begins with a thorough consultation to understand both a client’s needs as well as their design ideals.
COLLABORATE. Curating the client’s wishes into their desired reality continues throughout each project, and client input drives design development and refinement.
DELIVER. A final product not only reflects the client’s direction but exceeds what they had imagined possible. Additionally, over fifteen years of general contracting experience allows HUNTER DESIGN to develop plans that are easily understood by contractors, enabling more accurate and complete construction bids and, ultimately, successful completion of the project.
